Take the Summer Reading Challenge

30 Minute ChallengeHour ChallengeAdults

30 Minute Challenge (suggested for kids from birth through age 8)

  • Participants can get a reading log at any Stanislaus County Library branch.
  • Use the reading log to keep track of every DAY that they spend at least 30 minutes reading, or having someone read to them.
  • After 7 days of reading, kids can bring their reading log (signed by a parent) back to the library to collect a prize.
  • Finish a log (28 days of reading) and be entered into prize drawings for gift cards.

Last day to pick up a reading log is Wednesday, August 1.

Last day to pick up prizes is Tuesday, August 7.


Hour Challenge (suggested for ages 8 through 18)

  • Participants can get a reading log at any Stanislaus County Library branch.
  • Use the reading log to keep track of every HOUR that you spend reading.
  • Every 7 hours of reading gets an entry into prize drawings. The more you read the better your chance to win.
  • Finish the log and get an extra chance to win.
  • There is no limit on how many times you can enter.

Last day to pick up a reading log is Monday, August 6.

Last day to pick up prizes is Tuesday, August 7.


Adults

  • Read or listen to a book.
  • Fill out a review sheet and return to any Stanislaus County Library branch.
  • Each review is an entry into a drawing for gift cards, a quilt, and other fabulous prizes.
  • Reading to kids? Listening to audiobooks? Fill out a review and enter.
  • The more books you read the better your chance to win.
