Image of Aspen

Aspen is a 7 year old Golden Retriever. She enjoys doing dog sports, especially agility, and she has been competing in several venues for over 5 years. She has achieved Championship Agility titles in two different venues. She is very easy going and loves everyone she meets. This made her a great candidate for Therapy Dogs International, and she has her TDIA award with that organization, as well as a Canine Good Citizen title with AKC. Aspen has also been visiting Convalescent Hospitals and Senior Living facilities for over 5 years. She loves to go to schools and do presentations on dog safety and responsible dog ownership. Her sense of humor and big smile always is a hit with the children and she loves to wander among them, doing tricks or just being petted.  Aspen is a very special dog.

Dutchess (named after Dutchess County in New York) came to her handler at the age of 3 from a rescue organization. She had been chained up in a yard for the first 3 years of her life and it took a while for her to understand that people can be fun. Eventually, through working with her handler at agility, she realized the joy in life and attained an agility championship and many titles. She has also been a therapy dog visiting the Oakdale Care Center and takes part in shows with the group Paws for Applause.  She is now 12 years old and slowing down a little, but still loves to accompany her handler anywhere.
