Uncle Jer's Traveling Bee Show

Uncle Jer’s Traveling Bee Show puppets, Henrietta and Beatrice, explore the many jobs of a worker bee and end their performance with the bee dance. Kids can also watch live bees in action. Uncle Jer’s Traveling Bee Show will discuss the history of bees, honey production, bee safety, and the health benefits of honey. This program is a wonderful way to learn about the science and nature of bees and their importance in our world.

Superhero Academy Sign-Ups

Children ages 5-12 can participate in the Keyes Library Superhero Academy every Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. from July 7 - August 4. During this program, children will listen to a story and then construct various parts of a superhero costume including a mask, cuffs, shield, and a cape. On August 4 at 2:30 p.m. participants will graduate from the Superhero Academy and there will be an end of Summer Reading party. Due to the nature of this program, ADVANCE REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED. Superhero Training Academy

Receive an official Superhero Checklist and complete the five challenges on your list to earn a Superhero Certificate. The challenges include making a superhero mask and cuffs, reading to develop brain power, projectile target practice to develop hand-eye coordination, using your senses to develop X-Ray vision, and disposing of kryptonite in order to decontaminate our library. Once you have earned your special certificate, pose for a picture in front of a superhero backdrop.
